Everything you need to get the most out of BingeAway
BingeAway runs in the browser — there's no app to install. To start:
New accounts include a 7-day free trial of the Binger tier — no card required. After day 7 you drop back to the free tier unless you choose to subscribe.
Go to Profile → Edit profile from the avatar menu in the top right. Username changes take effect immediately. Avatar uploads support PNG and JPG up to 2 MB.
Use Profile → Change password. You'll need your current password to set a new one. If you've forgotten it, use the "Forgot password?" link on the sign-in screen and we'll email a reset link.
If you didn't get the verification email, check your spam folder and add DPO@Amven.uk to
your contacts. You can resend the verification email from the banner at the top of the dashboard.
Profile → Settings → Delete account. This wipes your watchlists, lists, groups you own, and private data within 30 days; backups are purged within 90 days. Public reviews may be anonymised rather than deleted if they're part of community discussions — see the Privacy Policy for the full retention rules.
Click Add Media from the dashboard. Type the title, pick from the autofill suggestions, and the page populates poster art, year, genre, synopsis and rating from our data partners (TMDB for films, TVmaze for TV).
When you add an item, choose its status. You can move items between statuses freely — mark a series as "Watching" while you're mid-season, then "Watched" when you finish.
Every item has a private notes field. Use it for anything — "started on the train to Edinburgh", "skip episode 4", "borrowed from Sam". Notes are never public, even on shared lists.
Lists are themed collections you build yourself: "Films My Mum Would Like", "Late-Night Sci-Fi", "Christmas Comfort Watches". Lists can be public (shareable by link, indexable by other BingeAway users) or private (just for you).
Public lists have a unique URL you can copy and share anywhere. People who follow the link can view the list and add items to their own watchlist with one click. They cannot edit your list.
Free users get 1 public list. Bingers get 5 public + 1 private. Power Bingers get 10 + 5. Binge Masters get 20 + 10. Full breakdown on the pricing page.
Episode tracking is available from the Binger tier upwards. When you mark a TV show as "Watching", BingeAway pulls the season and episode list from TVmaze. Tick episodes as you watch them, and the show automatically moves to "Watched" when you finish the final aired episode.
From the dashboard's Currently Binging row, every show you're mid-watch on shows the next unwatched episode with a one-click "Mark watched" button. This is the fastest way to keep your progress current without opening the show page.
You can mark an episode as skipped without it counting as watched. Rewatches are tracked separately so your "first watch" review remains tied to the original date.
The Binge Calendar shows release dates for shows you're tracking and films you've added to "Want to Watch". Available from the Binger tier upwards. Hover any date to see what's dropping.
Calendar entries pull from TVmaze for episode air dates and TMDB for film release dates. Streaming platform changes (Netflix, Disney+, etc.) are reflected when our data partners update; usually within 24 hours.
Groups are small communities organised around a shared interest — a genre, a director, an era, a cult show. Unlike a social feed, groups have a fixed membership and a focused discussion thread.
Anyone on a paid tier can create a group. Choose public (anyone can find and join) or private (invite only). Free users can create one public group. Group owners can pin posts, remove members, and lock threads.
Browse public groups from the Groups tab, or follow an invite link from a friend. Once you're in, you can post recommendations, share lists, and discuss what the group is watching.
A Binge Partner is someone you watch a series alongside, even if you're not in the same room. You and your partner see each other's progress through a show, can leave reactions on individual episodes, and get notified when the other catches up to your point.
Bingers get 1 partner; Power Bingers get 3; Binge Masters get 5. Pair up by sending an invite from your partner's profile or by entering their username on the Binge Partners page.
Mark anything as watched and you can rate it 1–5 stars and write a review. Reviews can be public (visible on your profile and the global feed) or private (only to you). Public reviews show up in aggregate ratings and are searchable.
You can edit a review at any time. Editing within the first 24 hours doesn't show an "edited" mark; after 24 hours, edits are flagged so other users know the original opinion changed.
Four tiers: Free, Binger (£1.99/month), Power Binger (£3.99/month), Binge Master (£5.99/month). Full feature comparison on the pricing page.
Every new account starts with 7 days of Binger features for free, no card required. After 7 days you drop to the free tier unless you've chosen to subscribe. We send a reminder email on day 5.
Subscriptions are billed via Stripe. We never see or store your card number — Stripe handles everything. You can manage billing, update your card, or cancel from Profile → Subscription.
Cancel any time. Your paid features stay active until the end of the billing period you've already paid for; after that you drop to the free tier. We don't issue partial refunds for unused days unless required by law.
You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. Upgrades prorate immediately; downgrades take effect at the next billing cycle so you keep what you paid for.
Account details (name, email, DOB), watchlist data, ratings and reviews, and usage analytics. Full list in the Privacy Policy.
Free tier accounts see non-personalised ads served by Google AdSense. Non-personalised means the ads are based on the page content, not on your viewing history or any profile of you. Paid tiers (Binger and above) are completely ad-free.
Click "Manage Cookie Preferences" at the bottom of any page (or in the cookie banner) to switch analytics or advertising cookies on or off independently. Essential cookies (the login session) cannot be disabled because the service can't function without them.
The fastest way is the in-app Bugs button in the bottom-right of every page. It captures your browser, the page you're on, and any console errors automatically — we get the technical context immediately.
If the bug is something that prevents the bug button from working (page blank, infinite loading spinner), email us with a screenshot and the URL.
If the answer isn't here, we'd rather you got in touch than struggle.
